Sharon Shapiro, PROSSAGE Bodwork Rededined, was a guest on Allen Elfman's show, VisitSedona.TV on Sedona's KAZM radio on January 30, 2009.

The article below was written by the editor or The Sedona Verde Valley Times, after receiving his first session from Sharon.

Mystical Magical Massage--   By Tommy Acosta

Never underestimate the power of touch, especially when applied by a professional Massage Therapist using proven techniques allowing for maximum healing, relaxation, and much needed rest.

Experiencing a full spectrum session with Sharon Shapiro. LMT, your custom massage is taken to new heights, and deep into dimensions of consciousness, spirit and mind.  Such was the experience for this writer. I feel fortunate to have received profound and consciousness-raising bodywork from such a truly gifted and highly skilled professional. Sharon’s sensitivity and unique healing touch synthesizes intuitive, eclectic and integrative techniques that free the body of pain, enhance awareness and soothe the spirit.

“What I do is allow and invite people to get in touch with their innate healing abilities,” Sharon said. “I look at the body in its current postural patterns and review my client’s health and lifestyle history to determine how to best proceed with their session, I love my work immensely”.  Sharon calls her work “Prossage--Bodywork Redefined,” she offers Neuromuscular Therapy, Structural Bodywork, Deep Tissue and Trigger Point work, Postural Evaluation, Medical Massage, Sports Massage, Contact Yoga, Reflexology, and Holodynamics, a system of healing that addresses one’s total being. She also offers on-site (chair) massage for events, promotions, and businesses.

The session experienced by this writer was held in sacred space. Relaxing music, healing ambiance, loving energy set the stage for my personal healing experience. To define the depth of relaxation, peace and feeling of well-being experienced after the three-hour session (which is her signature session) requires much more space than this article allows. Do not let the length of the session scare you. It is awesome and we all need it!  She spends ample time working on key areas where many therapists usually gloss over.  Sharon describes this technique as “releasing the core lock-down mechanism of the body”. Simply profound!

What can be said is that it was the most satisfying body, mind and spiritual work this author ever experienced. The residual benefits of my session included enhanced comfort and flexibility, improved posture, more full and complete awareness of the body, increased energy and a wonderful sense of peacefulness.

“Another goal of my work is to create a space in the body to aid in the proper functioning of the body’s various systems, such as blood flow, nerve impulses, digestion, elimination, detoxification and breathing,” say Sharon. “I enjoy creating an amazing rapport with the muscles, which in turn dictates the level of pressure I use. It’s about releasing trauma stored in the tissues. I desire to take the time to help teach my clients about their body and provide transformational tools and guidance on therapeutic stretches, exercises and yoga poses custom designed to help them maintain and support the changes that result from the session based on intuition, tried and proven, ancient and new techniques and skills.”
